My Black Dog

All great pubs have a pub dog. But what happens if yours is a Black Dog and no one else can see it?

We are immensely proud to be partnering with My Black Dog this winter by adding a discretionary £1 donation to every dining bill in all Metropolitan pubs, with the aim of raising both awareness around the severity of the mental health epidemic in our society, as well as funds to support the recruitment and training of more virtual volunteers. My Black Dog is a peer-to-peer mental health support organisation that provides a function whereby those seeking help can chat with volunteers who have lived through their own mental health difficulties in the past.

Members of our Metropolitan family have experienced first-hand the importance of having someone empathic to talk to when no one else seems to understand. Our pubs exist in no small part to provide warm and comforting atmospheres that foster love, community spirit and a safe environment for people to talk and share their stories.

We look forward to working together with My Black Dog to further their efforts in making support for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis more accessible and relatable.

Talk to someone who gets it.
