Sunday roast down the local

We’ve been working hard on our Sunday roasts. Our team of Executive Chefs has been improving and updating our recipes from trimmings to gravy in time for the cooler months, when a hearty roast dinner really is what the doctor ordered.

We have reviewed the Sunday roasts our pub teams serve all year round and paid close attention to where we have the crispiest roast potatoes, the smoothest gravy and the juiciest cuts of meat. We have zeroed in on the best practices across all of our kitchens and have consolidated our methods to make sure our chefs have the recipes and tricks of the trade to deliver a pub roast dinner to rival your family’s every time.

In its new book, the Ultimate United Kingdom Travelist, travel guide Lonely Planet ranks a Sunday pub roast as the sixth most unmissable UK experience, giving us all the more reason to ensure that the roasts our pubs offer are of the highest quality.

While it’s great to be able to provide a quintessentially British experience for visitors to the capital, we also know that for so many Londoners a Sunday roast down the local has become tradition and the part of the week most looked forward to. We know of regulars who haven’t missed a Sunday at their neighbourhood Metro pub in years, and for them, along with all our other customers, we work hard to keep getting better and better.
