Cracking cocktails

Metropolitan Pub Company held it’s first Bartenders Challenge sponsored by Diageo.

The first rounds were held in May and June leaving us 7 finalists who had to create 2 cocktails based on Diageo’s top sellers.

Judges from Diageo – Doug, David and Shaun

Big thanks to The Pembroke for hosting the event for us, superb work.  And of course, not forgetting our judges from Diageo – Doug, David and Shaun!

Each entrant had to produce either a Tanqueray G&T or a Ketel One Bloody Mary of their own style and then for their second drink they had a free reign to produce their own signature drink using either Tanqueray, Ketel One or Johnnie Walker Red as the base spirit.

The standard was extremely high throughout the heats and finals of the competition, testament to some fantastic people in our business.

The top 3 at the end read as follows with our winner George from Tulse Hill Hotel winning a trip for 2 to Ketel One.

1st – George at Tulse Hill Hotel

2nd – Phil at The Morgan Arms

3rd – Ian at The Maynard Arms

Best Bloody Mary – Toby at The Wilmington

Keep your eyes peeled for our next Bartenders Challenge coming this Winter!
